Corn often gets a bad rap, but it’s actually a whole grain (aka carbohydrate) and our diets should include several servings of whole grains daily. Carbohydrates are our body's largest fuel source with 45-65% of calories a day coming from them. Our bodies turn to them first for energy. In addition, corn is high in insoluble fiber. This is the type of fiber that goes through our body intact which is a good thing because it helps to feed the "good" bacteria in our gut.
