Because figs have natural sweetness, they were used as sweetener in “ancient” times. Figs have a unique, sweet taste, soft and chewy texture and slightly crunchy, edible seeds making them great addition to any dish. They are rich in potassium, calcium (one of the few fruit sources) magnesium, iron and copper. And, they contain lots of fiber which provides feelings of fullness and can reduce hunger and cravings.
