Mandarin oranges, which are smaller and have looser skin, are typically sweeter and less acidic than the common orange. There are over 200 varieties including clementines (sweet, seedless, easy to peel), tangerines (tart, deep orange/red color) and satsuma (seedless, thicker skin, easy to bruise), but they all boast the same great nutritional profile. These little gems are high in vitamin C, vitamin A and potassium making them a perfect snack or tasty addition to a salad.
