I am attending too many showers and weddings this spring/summer to count. Most of them are buffet style so what would you recommend my plan be to not derail my weight loss efforts?

Try having a light healthy snack beforehand so you're not starving and to prevent taking too much at the buffet.

Keep your portions in check and fill 1/2 your plate with salad or non-starchy veggies and fruit, 1/4 lean protein such as grilled chicken, fish or tofu, and 1/4 whole grains or starch such as potatoes. For dessert, choose a small piece or just have a couple bites. Stick to one cocktail and drink plenty of water!

Most importantly, have fun and focus on the guest of honor, not your food!
