I am confused with the myriad of diet choices. What is the best way to go about picking an ideal diet especially for weight loss.

An ideal diet is a general healthy diet! Have you heard of MyPlate? Make half your plate fruits and non-starchy vegetables, a quarter should be a lean protein, and the remaining quarter should be a whole grain starch. Try to get 20-30 grams of fiber per day and drink plenty of water each day. Stay away from sugar sweetened beverages of possible!
